The Rook Family Tree

 

OTHELLO ROOK; was born 14th April 1852 at Boughton. He was Christened 9th May 1860 at Wesleyan Chapel Boughton. He was buried on 17th September 1894 at Boughton.

Othello married EMILY MARY TONG on 12th October 1872 at Boughton Church.

Emily was born 4th Qtr 1853 at Dunkirk. She was Christened on 9th November 1853 at Dunkirk, her parents were Henry Tong and Mary James. She died in 1933 registered at Bridge ?

Emily's 2nd marriage was to GEORGE FOSTER in December 1894 registered at Faversham. George was born 1st Qtr 1859 at Goodnestone, Kent. His parents were Charles Foster and Matilda Lewis. George is listed as a bricklayers labourer aged 21 in the 1881 census. I'm just wondering if he was Othello's labourer and run off with his boss's wife who was 'the older woman'!!

It seems Emily and the children already assume the name Foster (probably just for the purpose of the census), but she does not marry George Foster until December 1894.

Othello dies in September 1894.

1911 census states they have been married 27 years and this marriage has produced 8 live babies with 5 still alive. 4 only show up ever on any of the census returns.
